Patriarch Grove, Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, CA One of the oldest trees in the world alongside some of the oldest light in the world. The stars in this picture are from the northern end of the Milky Way. The air glow provides a nice green tint in the sky. Considering that I nearly left the area as soon as I arrived due to altitude sickness, I'm glad I stuck around long enough to take a few shots. It was a beautiful area: silent, serene, and surreal.
Mobius Arch, Alabama Hills, CA It's been said that the eye is the window to the soul. Photographing the Milky Way through the naturally-formed, eye-shaped window of the Mobius Arch felt like capturing the soul of the galaxy.
