Trona Pinnacles, CA The composition possibilities at Trona are nearly endless. A friend of mine who I met through Instagram (@surfandsnowboard) led me and another friend (@alstiger2) to this spot when we visited Trona in July 2016. Here, two large spires wonderfully frame the Milky Way. I like to picture this scene as a gateway that leads to the rest of the cosmos, like a Stargate, or the "Guardian of Forever" from Star Trek.
