South Tufa Reserve, Mono Lake, CA I took the symbolism of my "Birth of a Galaxy" photo and developed it a bit further. I used a laser pointer to light paint the eye of Yaw Y'klim, the dragon which breathed life into our universe. Hey, for all we know, this could be how the Big Bang got started. Maybe?

Trona Pinnacles, CA Sometimes good fortune finds you unexpectedly. While taking a long exposure photo of the stars at the Trona Pinnacles, our camping neighbors set off several fireworks right where I happened to be pointing my camera. The result is this dramatic shot.
